Public hearing was declared closed. <br />Motion was made by Charles Richards, seconded by Marilyn Smith to deny the variance <br />request. Motion failed- 2 ayes, with Committee Members Nathan J. Bell V, Jerry Haning, <br />Allen Moore and Rick Hundley abstained from voting. <br />6 Public hearing and consideration of and action on the petition of Kelly Coplin to grant a <br />variance of Zoning Ordinance 1710, Section 9 -301 (1) which provides that the "minimum <br />lot depth in a Two - Family Dwelling District (2F) be no less than 100 feet" to allow a <br />minimum lot depth of 84.6 feet, which is a 1 S. 4 foot variance, on Lot I through 8, Block A, <br />of the proposed Commons on Polk Street Subdivision, being located in the 2100 Block of <br />East Polk. The petition also requested a variance of Zoning Ordinance 1710, Section 9 -701 <br />(1) which provides that the "minimum rear yard in a Two - Family Dwelling District (2F) <br />be no less than 10 feet" to allow a minimum rear yard of 7.5 feet, which is a 2.5 foot <br />variance, on Lot I through 8, Block A, of the proposed Commons on Polk Street <br />Subdivision, being located in the 2100 Block of East Polk. <br />Public hearing was declared open. <br />A. One individual spoke in favor of the petition. <br />Kelly Coplin, of Paris Texas, spoke in favor of the petition. Mr. Coplin stated that <br />he was seeking approval for a variance to allow to allow a minimum lot depth of <br />84.6 feet, which is a 15.4 foot variance and to allow a minimum rear yard of 7.5 <br />feet, which is a 2.5 foot variance to be able to construct duplexes. <br />B. One individual spoke in opposition. <br />Renee Snell, 917 20th Street S.E., Shawn Napier read her letter into the record in <br />opposition of the petition. Mrs. Snell has concerns about noise, parking issues and <br />the market value on the neighborhood might go down. <br />Public hearing was declared closed. <br />Motion was made by Jerry Haning, seconded by Nathan J. Bell V. to approve the variance <br />request. Motion carried 6 -0. <br />7. Meeting adjourned at 1:10 p.m. <br />APPROVED THIS DAY OF MAY 7, 2013. <br />52� <br />Rick Hun <br />
