MINUTES SPECIAL MEETING CITY OF PARIS HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION Monday, February 25, 2013 4:00 O'CLOCK P.M. 1. The Historic Preservation Commission meeting was called to order by Paul Denney, Chairman 4:01 p.m. A. The following members were present: Douglas Cox Nancy Anderson Ben Vaughan Britin Bostick Laurie Redus Paul Denney B. The following members were absent: David Stewart C. Also present: Cheri Bedford, Main Street Manager and Historic Preservation Officer, Sue Lancaster, City Council Representative, Colton Wicks, Owner 15 E. Plaza 2. Approval of minutes from February 13, 2013. Motion was made by Ben Vaughan seconded by Nancy Anderson. Motion carried 6 -0 3. Consideration of and action on the following Certificate of Appropriateness: A. 15 E. Plaza- Dr. Colton Wicks presented the colors he wanted to paint the eagle on the top of the building. The commission reviewed the drawing by Dr. Wicks, and discussed the options for the fabrication of the original design on the metal work covering the windows. He stated he had seen the metal work on the American Legion Building, and would want to have his work fabricated. He asked about constraints on metal used. There was some discussion on powder coating the metal framework. Dr. Wicks was agreeable to bringing back a fabricated sample to be reviewed by the Chairman or Vice Chairman before placing it on the window. A Motion was made to approve the color scheme of the eagle as presented, and to approve the metal fabricated window covering as presented with the stipulation that Paul Denney or Ben Vaughan review a sample before actual installation. Motion made by Laurie Redus, seconded by Britin Bostick Motion Carried 6 -0 4.
