MINUTES <br />SPECIAL MEETING <br />CITY OF PARIS HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION <br />Monday, February 25, 2013 <br />4:00 O'CLOCK P.M. <br />1. The Historic Preservation Commission meeting was called to order by Paul Denney, <br />Chairman 4:01 p.m. <br />A. The following members were present: <br />Douglas Cox <br />Nancy Anderson <br />Ben Vaughan <br />Britin Bostick <br />Laurie Redus <br />Paul Denney <br />B. The following members were absent: <br />David Stewart <br />C. Also present: Cheri Bedford, Main Street Manager and Historic Preservation <br />Officer, Sue Lancaster, City Council Representative, Colton Wicks, Owner 15 E. <br />Plaza <br />2. Approval of minutes from February 13, 2013. Motion was made by Ben Vaughan <br />seconded by Nancy Anderson. Motion carried 6 -0 <br />3. Consideration of and action on the following Certificate of Appropriateness: <br />A. 15 E. Plaza- Dr. Colton Wicks presented the colors he wanted to paint the eagle on <br />the top of the building. The commission reviewed the drawing by Dr. Wicks, and <br />discussed the options for the fabrication of the original design on the metal work <br />covering the windows. He stated he had seen the metal work on the American Legion <br />Building, and would want to have his work fabricated. He asked about constraints on <br />metal used. There was some discussion on powder coating the metal framework. Dr. <br />Wicks was agreeable to bringing back a fabricated sample to be reviewed by the <br />Chairman or Vice Chairman before placing it on the window. <br />A Motion was made to approve the color scheme of the eagle as presented, and to <br />approve the metal fabricated window covering as presented with the stipulation that <br />Paul Denney or Ben Vaughan review a sample before actual installation. Motion <br />made by Laurie Redus, seconded by Britin Bostick Motion Carried 6 -0 <br />4. Discussion of and possible action regarding the following structures considered by code <br />inspectors to be in violation of Article III of Chapter 7 of the Code of Ordinances of the <br />City of Paris, Paris, Texas, entitled "Substandard and Dangerous Buildings and <br />
