Kaufman St. <br />Paris Texas <br />7/16/2013 <br />Members Present: <br />Jill Drake <br />Britin Bostick <br />Matt Coyle <br />Katie Raulston <br />NancyWaldrum <br />Ashlea Mattoon <br />Cheri Bedford, Main Street Coordinator <br />Absent <br />Becky Semple <br />Call to order by Matt Coyle at 4:22p.m. <br />Guests: <br />Cleonne drake <br />Jimmye & Marianne Newman <br />Approval of minutes for June 18, 2013 <br />Motion to approve Jill Drake, seconded by Britin Bostick, Motion passed 6 -0 <br />*Note the correct spelling of member Karie Raulston <br />Consideration of and action on the following Main Street BIG applications. <br />Jimmy D. Newman, 208 Clarksville St. Business: Newman Town and Country Real Estate <br />Requesting $4000 for a new air conditioner on the roof of his building. <br />There is currently about $19,000 in the BIG fund. Question about Mr. Newmans Building being a <br />contributing building ?. Cheri clarified that the big grant is for downtown buildings revitalization, to <br />incentivize business, bring to code. Reimbursement is given once work is completed <br />Jill Drake - worthy of consideration; however, an existing building that doesn't bring in a new tenant <br />or new business. Britin, Ashlea, and Nancy agreed with Jill's assessment. Karie commented grant <br />would be more helpful to the employees and interior needs rather than improvement of the <br />building. <br />Would the scope of work still be completed as proposed even with the decrease of monies? <br />A motion was made by Jill Drake to grant $2000 toward the proposed project, second Casey <br />Ressler. Motion carried 6 -0 <br />Newman withdrew his application after the motion was moved to a lower dollar amount than <br />requested. Casey Ressler and the board discussed following up with the Newman's. <br />
