Paris -- Lamar County Yfeafth Department <br />400 West Sherman Street <br />Paris, Texas 75460 TF, <br />Voice: 903 - 785 -4561 <br />www.parislamorhealth.com F <br />Minutes of Special Meeting <br />Paris - Lamar County Board of Health <br />The Paris - Lamar County Board of Health held a special meeting at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 22, 2013. <br />In attendance were Dr. Rick Erickson, Dr. Keith House, Dr. Mark Gibbons, Dr. William George, and Mr. <br />William Collins. Not in attendance were Dr. Lav Singh and Mrs. Kristi Head. Others in attendance were Mrs. <br />Gina Prestridge, Ms. Cheryl Johnson, Mrs. Carla Rhodes, Mrs. Elishia Brothers, Mrs. Nita Johnson, and Mrs. <br />Rebecca Sanders. <br />Meeting was called to order at 5:34 p.m. by Dr. Erickson. <br />Mr. Collins made the motion and was seconded by Dr. Gibbons that minutes from the September 24, 2013 <br />meeting be approved. <br />Mrs. Prestridge, Executive Director, updated the board that Sandy Collard, City of Paris Human Resource <br />Manager, will give Paris -Lamar County Health Department any important City of Paris Policies and <br />Procedures revisions. Dr. Erickson had recently looked over the City of Paris Policies and Procedures; <br />however Mrs. Prestridge recently received some changes from the City of Paris so she will combine the <br />changes and the Paris -Lamar County Health Department Board Members can review at the next meeting. <br />Dr. Erickson talked with Judge M.C. "Chuck" Superville, Jr. about the interlocal agreement and what he <br />would like to see in the agreement and the wording. Dr. Erickson would like for the <br />The interlocal agreement defines how we relate to the City of Paris and Lamar County, how board members <br />are appointed and dismissed, how we are funded by these two entities, and the control they may have over <br />the Paris -Lamar County Health Department. Judge Superville would like for a firm budget figure that Lamar <br />County would pay at the beginning of their budget year and not an estimate figure at the beginning and then <br />the actual shortfall reimbursement amount at the end of the budget year. Mr. Collins had also talked to <br />Judge Superville about a budget figure of $75,000. a year from each entity OR one -half of the actual <br />expenses or $75,000., whichever is greater. Judge Superville wants to keep the ability to review the Paris - <br />Lamar County Health Department budget. Judge Superville also wants the board members to suggest name <br />for replacing any existing board members. The names would be submitted to the City of Paris and Lamar <br />County and they would approve or disapprove the appointments. Dr. Erickson will get with Mr. John <br />Godwin, Mr. Kent Mcllyar, and /or Dr. A. Hashmi before our next meeting. <br />
