MINUTES <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />CITY OF PARIS HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION <br />WEDNESDAY, MARCH 14, 2012 <br />12:00 O'CLOCK P.M. <br />The Historic Preservation Commission meeting was called to order by Paul Denney, <br />Vice - Chairman at 12:13 p.m. <br />A. The following members were present: <br />Paul Denney, Vice - Chairman (arrived at 12:13 p.m.) <br />Nancy Anderson <br />Britin Bostick <br />David Stewart <br />B. The following members were absent: <br />Arvin Starrett, Chairman <br />Douglas Cox <br />Ben Vaughan <br />C. Also present Cheri. Bedford, Main Street Manager; and Jeanna Scott, Historic <br />Preservation Officer. <br />2. Approval of minutes from previous meeting. (February 27, 2012) <br />Motion was made and seconded to approve the meeting minutes for February 27, 2012. <br />Motion carried 4 -0. <br />3. Consideration of and action on the following Certificate of Appropriateness: <br />A. 28 West Plaza — Furniture on the Square — Brad Taft- Jeanna Scott, Historic <br />Preservation Officer presented petition. Ms. Scott stated the application is for two <br />signs; one will be a 2' by 13' attached sign that will be placed on the building <br />above the canopy, the second sign will be an under canopy sign that will be <br />placed perpendicular to the street in the center of the front entrance and that sign. <br />will be 6" by 4'. All proposed signage meets the sign ordinance and the canopy <br />sign will clear the ground 9'. Commissioner Bostick asked if the attached sign <br />was made of tin or metal, it looks like corrugated tin material. Ms. Scott stated it <br />was metal, will verify exact material prior to permitting. Motion was made by <br />Nancy Anderson, seconded by Britin Bostick to approve the COA. Motion <br />carried 4 -0. <br />B. 575 South Main Street — Holiday Terrace Apartments — Tammy McIntyre — <br />Jeanna Scott, Historic Preservation Officer presented petition. Ms. Scott stated <br />they will be repairing and utilizing the existing sign. The sign meets all <br />
