MINUTES <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />CITY OF PARIS HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION <br />WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 10, 2010 <br />12:00 O'CLOCK P.M. <br />1. The Historic Preservation Commission meeting was called to order by Arvin Starrett, Chairman. <br />A. The following members were present: <br />Arvin Starrett, Chairman <br />Paul Denney, Vice - Chairman <br />Douglas Cox <br />Ben Vaughan <br />Susan Scholz, Secretary <br />Jerry Raper <br />B. The following members were absent: <br />Matt Coyle <br />C. Also present was Jeanna Scott, City Staff. <br />2. Approval of minutes from previous minutes. (January 25, 2010) <br />Motion was made by Susan Scholz, seconded by Douglas Cox to approve the minutes for the <br />January 25, 2010 meeting. Motion carried 5 -0. <br />Motion. was made by Susan Scholz, seconded by Jerry Raper to recuse Douglas Cox from item 3A. <br />Motion carried 5 -0. <br />3. Consideration of and action on the following Certificates of Appropriateness: <br />A. 946 South Main Street — Douglas Cox presented the petition. Motion was made by <br />Susan Scholz, seconded by Jerry Raper to approve the COA. Motion carried 5 -0. <br />Motion was made by Susan Scholz, seconded by Jerry Raper to return Douglas Cox to the meeting. <br />Motion carried 5 -0. <br />B. 134 South Main Street — Paris Baby - Melissa Gordon presented the petition. Ms. <br />Gordon stated she is putting a panel sign up in an existing fixture. Motion was made <br />by Susan Scholz, seconded by Paul Denney to approve the COA. Motion carried 6 -0 <br />C. 265 South Main Street — Gibraltar Hotel — Britin Bostick presented the petition. Ms. <br />Bostick stated they are proposing the removal of the clay block infill between the <br />structure columns. Motion was made by Susan Scholz, seconded by Douglas Cox to <br />approve the COA. Motion carried 6 -0. <br />Motion was made by Paul Denney, seconded by Susan Scholz to recuse Douglas Cox from Item <br />4A. Motion carried 5 -0. <br />
