MINUTES <br />SPECIAL MEETING <br />CITY OF PARIS HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION <br />MONDAY, OCTOBER 25, 2010 <br />4:00 O'CLOCK P.M. <br />1. The Historic Preservation Commission meeting was called to order by Arvin Starrett, <br />Chairman at 4:00 p.m. <br />A. The following members were present: <br />Arvin Starrett, Chairman <br />Douglas Cox <br />Ben Vaughan <br />Susan Scholz, Secretary <br />Matt Coyle <br />B. The following members were absent: <br />Paul Denney, Vice - Chairman <br />C. Also present were Jeanna Scott, City Staff, Shawn Napier, Historic Preservation <br />Officer, Cheri Bedford, Main Street Coordinator; and Rhonda Rogers, City <br />Council Member. <br />2. Approval of minutes from previous minutes. (October 13, 2010) <br />Motion was made by Susan Scholz, seconded by Jerry Raper to approve the minutes for <br />the October 13, 2010 meeting. Motion carried 6 -0. <br />3. Consideration of and action on the following Certificate of'Appropriateness: <br />A. 106 E. Kaufman — Suzy Harper property owner presented the petition. Ms. <br />Harper stated they want to install a light above the front porch for security. <br />Motion was made by Susan Scholz, seconded by Jerry Raper to approve the COA. <br />Motion carried 5 -0. <br />B. 222 Clarksville Street — David Norris business owner presented the petition. Mr. <br />Norris stated they need a door installed on the west side of the building to be able <br />to take in delivers when the business is not open. Motion was made by Susan <br />Scholz, seconded by Jerry Raper to approve the COA. Motion carried 5 -0. <br />C. 115 S. Main Street — Bob Bowden owner of Bowden's presented the petition. Mr. <br />Bowden stated they are going to use a vinyl wrap on the sign and will be changing <br />the graphics periodically. Motion was made by Susan Scholz, seconded by Jerry <br />Raper to approve the COA. Motion carried 5 -0. <br />
