Aviation Association in Orlando, Florida. He went to several booths and got a lot of good <br />information as to what is going on in the aviation business. Mr. Paris stated one of the <br />things we could look into is working with the Federal Government for handling visas. <br />However, Mr. Paris stated this would be a big investment to accomplish. Mr. Paris stated <br />that the Airshow would be a leverage to bring some individuals in to help us with <br />development activities such as consults. Mr. Paris stated that he was speaking with Ken <br />Higdon, Chamber of Commerce about bringing in industrial business to show case. Mr. <br />Paris stated he would like to meet with some of the board members to discuss how to <br />spend the $10,000 dollars to market the airport. Mr. Paris further stated that the PEDC is <br />working to highlight the Cox Field Airport. Paula Portugal stated she would like to <br />compliment PEDC for everything they have done. <br />5. Discussion regarding delinquent hangar rentals. <br />Ashley Fendley, City Staff stated the last report we received everyone was up to date on <br />hangar rental payments. <br />6 Discussion regarding the status of the new hangar construction project. <br />Carla Easton, City Engineer stated at the last meeting on November 17, 2016 the Board <br />requested to ask City Council for the extra hangar money. Mrs. Easton stated that she <br />approach City Council in December of 2016 unfortunately no extra funds were available <br />for this project. Mrs. Easton stated that TxDOT is moving forward with the construction <br />of the four hangars. Mrs. Easton stated that they had a meeting last week with the <br />contractor to proceed on January 23rd. Mrs. Easton further stated this is a 5 -month project <br />which should be finished in June. <br />7. Discussion regarding the use of existing hangars. <br />Ashley Fendley, City Staff stated the individuals living at the airport are in privately <br />owned hangars. Ms. Fendley stated there is nothing in the lease agreement that prohibits <br />them from living in a privately owned hangar. <br />8. Requested items for future agendas. Delinquent hangars, discuss development <br />opportunities, new hangar construction project and 2017 Airshow. <br />9. Meeting adjourned at 6:11 p.m. <br />APPROVED THIS 16TH DAY OF FEBRUARY, 2017. <br />
