MINUTES <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />BUILDING AND STANDARDS COMMISSION <br />MONDAY, MARCH 21, 2011 <br />4:00 O'CLOCK P.M. <br />1. Vicki Ballard acting Chairperson called the Building and Standards Commission meeting <br />to order at 4:02 P.M. <br />A. The following members were present: <br />Johnny Norris <br />Vicki Ballard <br />Wendell Moore <br />Lee Ann Barbee <br />Ryan Lassiter <br />Chris Brown <br />B. The following members were absent: <br />None <br />C. Also present was Robert Talley, Code Enforcement Officer. <br />2. Approval of previous meeting minutes. (February 21, 2011) <br />Motion was made by Johnny Norris, seconded by Wendell Moore to approve the minutes <br />for the February 21, 2011 meeting. Motion carried unanimously. <br />3. Public Hearing to consider presentations by City of Paris Code Inspectors and <br />owner(s) and/or lien holder(s) of the below properties who have been given notice of <br />a violation of Article III of Chapter 7 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris, <br />Paris, Texas, entitled ASubstandard and Dangerous Buildings and Structures @: <br />A. 11.316 th Street S.E.; Lot 5 and N Part of 5 -B, City Block 1.63 -A — Motion was <br />made by Vicki Ballard, seconded by Chris Brown, to allow 90 days to demolish. <br />If the property is not demolished in 90 days the City may demolish, with a $1,000 <br />per day civil penalty. Motion carried unanimously. <br />B. 1141 6th Street S.E.; Lot 5 -A and Part of 5 -B, City Block 163 -A — Motion was <br />made by Wendell Moore, seconded by Johnny Norris to allow 14 days to secure <br />and 90 days to repair. If the property in not secured in 14 days and repaired in 90 <br />days the City may secure, with a $1,000 per day civil penalty. Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />C. 724 Cedar; Lot 4, Block 6, Gibbons Park Addition - Motion was made by <br />Chris Brown, seconded by Lee Ann Barbee, to allow 30 days to demolish. If the <br />property is not demolished in 30 days the City may demolish, with a $1,000 per <br />
