MINUTES <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />CITY OF PARIS HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION <br />WEDNESDAY JULY 8 2009 <br />1.2:00 O'CLOCK P.M. <br />1. The Historic Preservation Commission meeting was called to order by Arvin Starrett, <br />Chairman. <br />A. The following members were present: <br />Arvin Starrett, Chainnan <br />Paul Denney, Vice-Chairman (arrived late 12:05) <br />Susan Scholz, Secretary <br />Ben Vaughan <br />Douglas Cox <br />Jerry Raper <br />Matt Coyle <br />B. The following members were absent: <br />None <br />C. Also present was Jeanna Scott, Administrative Assistant and Kent McIlyar, City <br />Attorney. <br />2. Election of Off cers: <br />A. Chairman — Susan Scholz nominated Arvin Starrett <br />B. Vice - Chairman — Susan Scholz nominated Paul Denney <br />C. Secretary — Ben Vaughan nominated Susan Scholz <br />Motion was made by Ben Vaughan, seconded by Matt Coyle to appoint all nominees as <br />presented. Motion carried 7 -0. <br />3. Approval of minutes from. previous meetings (June 10, 2009) <br />Motion was made by Ben Vaughan, seconded by Jerry Raper to table this item. Motion <br />carried 7 -0. <br />4. Consideration of and action on the following Certificate of Appropriateness: <br />A. 119 N. Main — Lamar County Veteran Services — Chet Hilyer, County Veterans <br />Service Officer, represented the petition. Mr. Hilyer stated they put the sign <br />where they did to mark the handicap entrance. They tried to keep the sign simple <br />to direct people to that answer. Would appreciate the commission consideration <br />
