and approval of the petition. Arvin Starrett voiced concerns regarding possibility <br />of other signage. Mr. Hilyer stated there are no other entities in the building that <br />would require a sign. Ben Vaughan asked if Mr. Hilyer would have objectives to <br />moving the sign closer to side walk, to comply with the sign ordinance. Mr. <br />Hilyer stated he had no problem moving the sign. Motion was made by Paul <br />Denney, seconded by Jerry Raper to approve the COA with a stipulation that the <br />sign is moved two feet further from the curb. Motion carried 7 -0. <br />B. 5 East Plaza — Subway (Sign Revision from Scott's Signs) — Alex, Scott's Custom <br />Signs, presented the petition. Alex stated Subway denied the logo on the bottom <br />of sign. Subway requested that "open daily" be placed at the bottom of the sign. <br />Motion was made by Ben Vaughan, seconded by Susan Scholz to approve the <br />COA. Motion carried 7 -0. <br />5. Discussion of the Sign Ordinance. Commissioners discussed the sign ordinance and how <br />it affects the Historic District. Kent McIlyar answered questions regarding the ordinance. <br />6 Discussion of and possible action regarding the following structures considered by code <br />inspectors to be in violation of Article III of Chapter 7 of the Code of Ordinances of the <br />City of Paris, Paris, Texas, entitled "Substandard and Dangerous Buildings and <br />Structures, " to determine whether such buildings or structures can be rehabilitated and <br />designated on the National Register of Historic Places, as a recorded Texas Historic <br />Landmark, or as historic property as designated by the City Council of the City of Paris: <br />A. 725 Park Street; Lot 4 and W /50' of 1, Block 3, McKnight Addition <br />B. 1523 West Houston; Lot 13, City Block 198 <br />C. 1331 Sperty Avenue; Lot 8, Block 2, Sperty 's 2nd Addition <br />D. 513 Graham Street; Lot PT 2, City Block 44 -A <br />E. 5401" Street N.E.; Lot 3 and 19, City Block 92 <br />F. 60215` Street NE.; Lot 5, City Block 92 <br />G. 309 3rd Street N W.; Lot 14, City Block 55 <br />H. 24125't' Street N. W.; Lot 3, Block 2, Sperry's 3 "d Addition <br />Motion was made by Matt Coyle, seconded by Susan Scholz, to send all structures to the <br />Building and Standards Commission for demolition since they cannot be rehabilitated nor <br />do they have significant historical value. Motion carried 7 -0. <br />6 Request items for . future agendas. Demolition by neglect report on citation issued to <br />property owners within the Historic District. <br />
