MINUTES <br />SPECIAL MEETING <br />CITY OF PARIS HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION <br />CITY OF PARIS <br />CITY HALL - COUNCIL CHAMBERS <br />107 E. KAUFMAN <br />PARIS, TEXAS <br />MONDAY, MAY 1, 2006 <br />12:00 O'CLOCK P.M. <br />The Historic Preservation Commission meeting was called to order by <br />Chairman Arvin Starrett at 12:00 P.M. <br />A. The following members were present: <br />Paul Denney <br />Sue Lancaster <br />Jerry Raper <br />Alternate: Brian Wear <br />The following members were absent: <br />Ann Rogers, Secretary <br />Claudia Hunt <br />Alternate: Becki Norment <br />B. Also present were Lisa Wright, Historic Preservation Officer; and <br />Bethany Golden, Main Street Coordinator. <br />2. Consideration of and action on the following Certificates ofAppropriateness: <br />A. 208 S. Main - Pat Crabtree. Richard Hunt, 405 W. Kaufman, stated that <br />Mr. Crabtree wants to replace the shed roof. He took down a structure <br />and installed doors. Mr. Hunt advised that the doors would rot if left <br />uncovered. Arvin Starrett stated that he spoke with Pat Crabtree on <br />Friday because he had proceeded with the work prior to approval of the <br />COA. Mr. Starrett stated that a COA is required any time there is a <br />change in style, color, texture, or material on the exterior of a building <br />that is visible from the street. Motion was made to approve the COA <br />by Jerry Raper, seconded by Sue Lancaster. Motion carried 5 -0. <br />B. 507 Clarksville Street - CVS Pharmacy. Arvin Starrett stated that the <br />sign package was permitted by the City prior to the presentation to this <br />Board of the approval of the materials. All of the building signage that <br />is attached to the physical plan were already preapproved by this body. <br />The Board will be considering the free standing signs around the <br />perimeter of the property.
