MINUTES <br />SPECIAL MEETING <br />CITY OF PARIS HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION <br />CITY OF PARIS CITY HALL <br />CITY COUNCIL CHAMBERS <br />107 E. KAUFMAN STREET <br />PARIS, TEXAS <br />MONDAY, NOVEMBER 13, 2006 <br />4:00 O'CLOCK P.M. <br />1. The Historic Preservation Commission meeting was called to order by <br />Chairman Arvin Starrett at 4:00 P.M. <br />A. The following members were present: <br />Arvin Starrett, Chairman <br />Ann Rogers <br />Paul Denney <br />Pike Burkhart <br />Nancy Partridge <br />Susan Scholz (arrived at 4:10) <br />Alternate: Brian Wear <br />The following members were absent: <br />Sharon Nabors <br />Alternate: Vanessa Preston <br />B. Also present was Lisa Wright, Historic Preservation Officer, and Beth <br />Golden, Main Street Coordinator. <br />2. Approval of minutes from previous meetings. (September 25, 2006; October <br />11, 2006; October 12, 2006) Motion to approve the minutes as presented was <br />made by Pike Burkhart, seconded by Brian Wear. Motion carried 6 -0. <br />3. Consideration of and action on the following Certificates of Appropriateness: <br />A. 107 E. Kaufman - City of Paris - Todd Varner presented the City's <br />application to the Commission. Motion was made to approve the COA <br />by Paul Denney, seconded by Nancy Partridge. Motion carried 6 -0. <br />Chairman Arvin Starrett moved to Item 3 -C next. <br />C. 136 Clarksville Street - Lyn Campbell - Arvin Starrett stated that the <br />design guideline lays out specific fonts that can be used in signage, <br />and the font in this sign does not meet the requirements of the <br />guidelines, nor does the sign qualify as a logo, which would exempt it <br />
