MINUTES <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />CITY OF PARIS HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION <br />CITY HALL WEST ANNEX <br />CONFERENCE ROOM <br />150 1 ST STREET S.E. <br />PARIS, TEXAS <br />MONDAY, MARCH 28, 2005 <br />4:00 O'CLOCK P.M. <br />1. The Historic Preservation Commission Meeting was called to order by <br />Chairman Arvin Starrett at 4:00 P.M. <br />A. The following members were present: <br />Ann Rodgers, Secretary <br />Sue Lancaster <br />Paul Denney <br />Alternate: Brian Wear <br />B. The following members were absent: <br />Barbara Wilson, Vice Chairman <br />Claudia Hunt <br />Jerry Raper <br />Alternate: Becki Norment <br />2. Approval of minutes from previous meetings. Motion to approve the minutes <br />from the March 9, 2005, meeting was made by Paul Denney, seconded by Sue <br />Lancaster. Motion carried 5 -0. <br />3. Consideration of and action on the following Certificates ofAppropriateness: <br />A. 733 Church Street - David Phillips. Motion to approve the COA was <br />made my Sue Lancaster, motion seconded by Ann Rodgers. Motion <br />carried 5 -0. <br />B. 265 1st Street S.W. - Kenneth and Rita Kammer. Motion was made by <br />Ann Rodgers, seconded by to approve the COA as follows: (1) <br />installation of the fence; (2) extensions of the brick wall; (3) installation <br />of the Western Union wall; and (4) construction of the fire pit with an <br />approved metal roof, was made by Ann Rodgers, seconded by Sue <br />Lancaster. Motion carried 5 -0. The construction of the restroom was <br />not approved because more information regarding the design of the <br />structure was needed. <br />
