MINUTES <br />SPECIAL MEETING <br />CITY OF PARIS HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION <br />CITY HALL WEST ANNEX <br />CONFERENCE ROOM <br />150 1ST STREET S.E. <br />PARIS, TEXAS <br />WEDNESDAY, APRIL 13, 2005 <br />12:00 O'CLOCK P.M. <br />1. The Historic Preservation Commission Meeting was called to order by Vice - <br />Chairman Barbara Wilson at 12:00 P.M. <br />A. The following members were present: <br />Jerry Raper <br />Sue Lancaster <br />Paul Denney <br />Claudia Hunt <br />Alternate: Becki Norment <br />B. The following members were absent: <br />Arvin Starrett, Chairman <br />Ann Rodgers, Secretary <br />Alternate: Brian Wear <br />C. Also present was Lisa Wright, Historic Preservation Officer, and <br />Bethany Golden, Main Street Coordinator. <br />2. Consideration of and action on the following Certificates &Appropriateness: <br />A. 135 1st Street S.E. - City of Paris, by David Denney of Denney <br />Architects. Motion to recuse Paul Denney was made by Becki Norment, <br />seconded by Sue Lancaster. Motion carried 5 -0. David Denney <br />explained to the Commission that the requested COA was for a minor <br />revision from what had already been approved. He stated that the <br />doors as originally requested to be designed by Mike Malone were so <br />large and heavy that they would have been difficult to open, so the <br />revised doors will be of conventional size with glass panels and wood <br />trim painted to match the top woodwork. Motion to approve the COA <br />was made by Becki Norment, seconded by Sue Lancaster. Motion <br />carried 5 -0. Motion to return Paul Denney to the meeting was made by <br />Becki Norment, seconded by Sue Lancaster. Motion carried 5 -0. <br />
