MINUTES <br />SPECIAL MEETING <br />CITY OF PARIS HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION <br />CITY HALL WEST ANNEX <br />CONFERENCE ROOM <br />150 1ST STREET S.E. <br />PARIS, TEXAS <br />WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 10, 2005 <br />12:00 O'CLOCK P.M. <br />The Historic Preservation Commission meeting was called to order by <br />Chairman Arvin Starrett at 12:00 P.M. <br />A. The following members were present: <br />Barbara Wilson, Vice Chairman <br />Sue Lancaster <br />Paul Denney <br />Jerry Raper <br />Claudia Hunt <br />B. The following members were absent: <br />Ann Rodgers, Secretary <br />Alternates: Brian Wear <br />Becki Norment <br />C. Also present were Lisa Wright, Historic Preservation Officer, and <br />Bethany Golden, Main Street Coordinator. <br />2. Approval of minutes from previous meetings. Motion to approve the minutes <br />of the July 13, 2005, meeting was made by Sue Lancaster, seconded by <br />Barbara Wilson. Motion carried 5 -0. <br />Paul Denney joined the meeting. <br />3. Consideration of and action on the following Certificates ofAppropriateness: <br />A. 120 N. Main Street -Kit Lindsey and Jennifer Long. The proposed sign <br />is based on the old Lamar Creamery sign which is metal, 4" - 6" thick. <br />Anthony Signs will place the sign 1' from the building and it will be 2- <br />sided, black metal painted black with white wording and diamond dust <br />(glass) lettering. It will hang between the bottom sill. It will not be <br />centered because this would cause the electrical conduit to block the <br />sign. Placing the sign over the door denotes the entrance and <br />increases visibility. It will be lit from above, but they are still searching <br />for a shade, and Paul Denney stated that Hubbell Company still makes <br />
