H. Corner of S. Main Street (800 block) and Washington (Parking Lot <br />Fence) - Brad Hutchison. Brad said that he owns the east half of the <br />parking lot that is directly across from his house and Washington <br />Square Apartments. The ordinance requires a fence of 40" or less at <br />the street. He will plant crape myrtles along the side of the fencing to <br />hide the corner post. The parking lot will be lit by the existing guard <br />light and street light. He intends to tear down the existing sign and <br />replace with a single side facing Main Street. The crape myrtles will be <br />planted outside on the unfinished side. Brad said the purpose of the <br />vegetation is to separate the 2 properties. Motion to approve by Paul <br />Denney, seconded by Jerry Raper. Motion carried 6 -0. Motion to allow <br />the owner the option to make both sides finished without a further <br />Certificate of Appropriateness made by Paul Denny, seconded by <br />Barbara Wilson. Motion carried 6 -0. <br />4. Receipt of report from the Historic Preservation Officer. The HPO handed out <br />the attached report. <br />5. Request items from Board for future agendas. Appoint a task force to study <br />a policy to clean up burned out or damaged buildings. <br />6.
