365 <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it is further deemed appropriate that the PEDC support the efforts of the <br /> Texas Air Quality Coalition in ensuring that the proposed regional air strategy does not negatively <br /> impact the economic interests of the City of Paris; and, <br /> <br />__ WHEREAS, to assist the Texas Air Quality Coalition in their efforts, it is deemed <br /> appropriate that the Paris Economic Development Corporation provide financial support in the <br /> amount of $5,000.00; NOW, THEREFORE, <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE~ BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE PARIS <br /> ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION, that the PEDC opposes inclusion of the City <br /> of Paris, the County of Lamar, and the Northeast Texas region into the sixty-two (62) mile VOC <br /> control area or the one hundred twenty-four (124) mile NOx control area as proposed by TNRCC; <br /> and, <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the PEDC supports the efforts of the Texas Air <br /> Quality Coalition in ensuring that the proposed regional air strategy does not negatively impact <br /> the economic interests of the City of Paris and that financial assistance be, and the same is hereby, <br /> granted to said Coalition in the amount of $5,000.00; and, <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance, W. E. Foster, City Attorney <br /> <br /> City Attorney Scott Foster read the resolution. <br /> <br /> Boardmember Mike Rhodes made a motion, seconded by Boardmember Dick <br />-- Amis that this resolution be adopted, and the Board voted unanimously to adopt <br /> the resolution. <br /> <br /> President Fendley.advised the Board that Jay Guest and Melba Harris had been <br /> appointed to the Paris Economic Development Board by the City Council. He <br /> said that they will take their positions on the Board in July. <br /> <br /> <br />
