PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION MEETING AGENDA ��I� I <br />SEPTEMBER 59 2000 <br />The Planning and Zoning Commission met Tuesday, September 5, 2000 at 5:30 at Heritage Hall - <br />1009 West Kaufman Street, Paris, Texas with the following members present: t <br />1. Reeves Hayter <br />2. Vincent Battles <br />3. Barbara Forrest <br />4. Eddie Vincent <br />5. Bill Coleman <br />6. Bobby L. Myers <br />7. Louis Yates, Jr. <br />Earl Smith, the city engineer was also present. <br />The meeting was called to order by Reeves Hayter. <br />1. The minutes from the August 7, 2000 regular planning and zoning meeting were approved <br />with a motion by Bobby Myers seconded by Eddie Vincent. A correction was made to Item <br />#14 of the August 7, meeting, motion carried by a vote of 7 ayes and 1 abstained, Eddie <br />Vincent. <br />Motion was made by Bobby Myers and seconded by Bill Coleman to consider Item #10 <br />next. <br />2. Public Hearing to consider the petition of Nell Fleming for a change in zoning from a <br />One - Family Dwelling District No. 2 (SF -2) to a One - Family Dwelling District No. 2 (SF- <br />2) With Specific Use Permit (25) Nursery or Daycare, Lot 3, Block A, Eastfield <br />Addition, being number 525 NE 32" Street. <br />The public hearing was declared open. <br />Ms. Fleming, 525 32 "d NE, 0.2 miles from Aikin School, spoke in favor of the petition, she <br />wants to keep 8 -9 children in an environment with structured activities, outdoor activities <br />twice a day for 30 minutes. Ms. Fleming has experience with this type of business. Ms. <br />Fleming had an inspection and is already licensed for the business. Operating hours will be <br />from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday -Friday only. The children would arrive at staggered times <br />and there would be no signs of the business displayed. <br />Mr. Dan Edwards who lives across the street from Ms. Fleming states that the Flemings have <br />increased their home value with improvements and mentioned that the zoning goes away <br />with the Flemings if they move. <br />Ms. Lee Ann Sartor, states that she has known the Flemings for 4 years and Ms. Fleming <br />keeps her children, they also, take good care of their property and are Christian people with <br />a clean house. <br />
