MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE PLANNING AND <br />ZONING COMMISSION <br />AUGUST 4, 2003 <br />The Planning and Zoning Commission met Monday, August 4, 2003, 5:30 <br />P.M., Paris Junior College, Applied Technology Building, Room 1206, 2400 <br />Clarksville Street, Paris, Texas with the following members present: <br />1. Reeves Hayter 5. Marshall Kent <br />2. Cleveland Thomas 6. Carl Lucas <br />3. Brad Archer 7. Bobby Myers <br />4. Louis Yates <br />Steve Methven, the building official was also present. <br />The meeting was called to order by Reeves Hayter. <br />1. The minutes from the July 7, 2003, regular planning and zoning <br />meeting were approved with a motion by Brad Archer and seconded by <br />Bobby Myers. Motion carried by a vote of 7 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Motion was made by Marshall Kent to excuse Louis Yates from <br />consideration of the next item, seconded by Carl Lucas. Motion carried <br />by a vote of 6 ayes and 0 nays. <br />2. Public Hearing to consider the petition of Henry Starks for a change in <br />zoning from a One - Family Dwelling District No. 2 (SF -2) to a Multiple - <br />Family Dwelling District No. 1 (MIT-1), Lot 18, City Block 259, being <br />number 514 251h NE. <br />The public hearing was declared open. <br />Henry Starks, 514 NE 25', spoke in favor of the petition stating that he <br />would like to build a single family home and a duplex. He may build 2 <br />more duplexes later. <br />Chairman Hayter asked about the possibility of Planned Development <br />zoning, whether this would take care of Mr. Starks' needs. <br />
