Planning and Zoning Meeting <br />January 6, 2004 <br />Page 2 <br />have been some thefts in the neighborhood in broad daylight and the <br />presence of some neighbors in the neighborhood could possibly <br />counteract some of this activity. Mr. Merritt would not like to see the <br />neighborhood opened up to all kinds of businesses but thinks that this <br />is not an unreasonable request and does not think that this salon will <br />affect the traffic flow. <br />Pat Pulmeri, 2210 Bella Vista, was concerned about being opened up to <br />being rezoned. Ms. Pulmeri stated that there is one way in and one way <br />out of the area and there is an exorbitant amount of traffic there and <br />she would not like to see more traffic coming into the area. <br />Ms. Joe Perry, 2185 Sycamore, expressed concern regarding increased <br />traffic to the area. <br />Joey Bristow owns property at 2270 Sycamore and 4 houses on Bella <br />Vista stated that one of the selling points of the property in the area is <br />that there is one way in and one way out and it is an area with little <br />traffic. <br />Steve Methven stated that he and Russell McCain received a call from <br />Mr. Morrow in opposition to the petition. <br />There was no further opposition, the public hearing was declared <br />closed. <br />3. Consideration of and action on the petition of Wanda Whitaker for a <br />change in zoning from a One - Family Dwelling District No. 2 (SF -2) to <br />a Neighborhood Service District (NS), Lot 14, Block C, Lamesa Heights <br />Addition, being number 2235 Sycamore Street. <br />Motion was made to deny the petition by Cleveland Thomas and <br />seconded by Russell McCain. Motion carried by a vote of 8 ayes and 0 <br />nays. <br />
