Planning and Zoning Meeting <br />August 3, 2004 <br />Page 10 <br />The question was asked of the people for the petition, how many lives <br />in the area, Winnona Carpenter, 618 S. Main, stated that she lives in the <br />area as well as several raised their hands. <br />Melissa Wickersham, Kelly Wickersham's wife, spoke against the <br />petition stating that she is Margie Bell's granddaughter and it is like the <br />Bell family against the rest of Church Street. Ms. Wickersham stated <br />that she grew up on Church Street, goes to church on Church Street <br />and she know lives on Church Street. Ms. Wickersham is proud of <br />what they have accomplished. Ms. Wickersham stated that their <br />neighborhood is improving with or without historic preservation. <br />There was no further opposition, the public hearing was declared <br />closed. <br />S. Consideration of and action on the Historic Preservation Commission <br />for a designation of Historic Overlay District No. 2 (HD) on parts of <br />South Church, South Main, and 1St Street SW. The following described <br />area will be known as the South Church, South Main, and 1St Street SW <br />Historic District. <br />Starting at the intersection of West Sherman Street and 1St Street SW, <br />then south along 1st Street SW to Hearne Avenue, then east along <br />Hearne Avenue to South Church Street, then north along South Church <br />Street to Kaufman Street. This is the general description of the area <br />with the following additions and exclusions. <br />The following lots are west of Ft Street SW and shall be included in the <br />area: City Block 137, Lots 6, 6A, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12; City Block 149, <br />Lots 6, 7, 8, 9,10,11 and 12; City Block 156, Lots 7, 8, 9,10,11,12 and <br />13. <br />
