MINUTES <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />AIRPORT ADVISORY BOARD <br />COX FIELD AIRPORT TERMINAL <br />MEETING ROOM <br />THURSDAY, MAY 20, 2004 <br />5:30 O'CLOCK P.M. <br />1. The Airport Advisory Board Meeting was called to order by Chairman Victor <br />Abeles at 5:55 P.M. <br />A. The following members were present: <br />Victor Abeles, Chairman <br />J.B. Richey <br />James Proctor <br />Glenn Chapman <br />B. The following members were absent: <br />Vic Ressler, Vice - Chairman <br />Don Morrell <br />Andrew Fasken <br />C. Also present were Lisa Wright, Airport Director; Jim Collier, Airport <br />Manager; and Jimmy Smyers. <br />2. Approval of minutes from previous meetings. Motion to approve the minutes <br />of the March 18, 2004, meeting was made by J. B. Richey, seconded by Glenn <br />Chapman. Motion carried 4 -0. Motion to approve the minutes of the April 15, <br />2004, meeting was made by J. B. Richey, seconded by James Proctor. Motion <br />carried 4 -0. <br />3. Discussion ofand possible action on purchasing outdoorlighting forhangars. <br />Motion to remove this item from the table was made by J. B. Richey, seconded <br />by James Proctor. Motion carried 4 -0. Lisa Wright reported that City staff has <br />determined thatthey could install the requested lighting for considerably less. <br />Motion to have the staff move forward to install the lighting was made by J. <br />B. Richey, seconded by Glenn Chapman. Motion carried 4 -0. <br />4. Receipt of report from the Airport Director regarding the procedures used by <br />other airports to permit mechanics. Lisa Wright reported that none of the <br />other airports contacted required mechanics to be permitted; however, the <br />majority of them required that all mechanics present evidence of FAA <br />licensing and adequate insurance. The majority also do not allow mechanics <br />to operate on the airport property if they do not lease a hangar or own a <br />
