January 19, 2006
Page 2
4. Receipt of report from the Airport Director. Lisa Wright thanked the Board for
their help in organizing the fly -over during the Pumpkin Festival. She said
that the military planes that flew over very low were a huge hit. She also
reported thatshe, Jerry, the City Engineer, and the City Manager were meeting
with KSA Architects on the 2 "d or 3rd to have a pre- design meeting on the new
hangars. She stated that she and Jerry were also meeting next Monday
regarding a request for a RAMP grant, and that they were meeting on the 31St
to work on finalizing the Airport Emergency Plan to the Airport Certification
Manual. The Board requested Les Chapman to make contact with Helen
Watson to see if the Airport could get a static display. He stated that we might
be able to get a Tom Cat flown here; however, there is a charge to remove
engines. It is not free, someone has to disassemble it and then get it here.
Andy Fasken stated, since the cost is $7,500 or $8,000, having it flown in
would be the cheapest way to get it here via Navy. Les Chapman agreed to
make contact.
5. Request items from Board for future agendas. Static Display.
6. The meeting adjourned at 6:15 p.m.
APPROVED THIS 1ST DAY OF MARCH, 2006.
Vic Ressler, Chairman
