Disposition of old/unrepairable appliances Motion to approve made by
Ms. Cherry and seconded by Mr. Dangerfield, passed 4 -0.
8. Board Questions or comments: L)Ms. Cherry asked about the laundry mats. She stated
that a year ago we agreed to open them back up and nothing has been done. Ms. Ruthart
stated that it is still on her "to do" list but no one can be found to provide the machines
and they are expensive. The local distributors don't want to provide them because of the
locations. Ms. Cherry stated that it needs to be done. 2.) Ms. Cherry also asked about a
meter reading class. Ms. Ruthart said that she thought Kelly Crawford had already done
that. Ms. Cherry suggested that flyers be handed out. 3.) Ms. Cherry also brought up the
fact that Ms. Hughes can't still be on the Resident Council. Ms. Ruthart and Mr.
Dangerfield explained that she is no longer on the Resident Council. There are now 2
new members serving on the Resident Council which makes a total of 4. Ms. Cherry
asked for copies of the guidelines for the Resident Council. Ms. Ruthart told her she
would get them to her. 4.) Ms. Cherry brought up the mold problems at Booker T. Ms.
Cherry asked if the maintenance men went to Booker T to check for mold. Ms. Ruthart
explained that yes every unit was inspected. Ms. Cherry said that some people have come
to her and told her there was mold in their unit on the ceiling and part of the wall. Ms.
Cherry asked for the final report where the mold repair was done. Ms. Ruthart told her
she would get her a copy of that report. Ms. Snow stated that we are repairing the
mold/mildew problems by HUD standards. Ms. Ruthart asked Ms. Cherry if she would
like to share the unit numbers of the ones with the problems and Ms. Cherry stated that
she would not.
9.
