<br />I' <br />SECOND FLOOR, TWO STORY AREA OVER THE "CENTURY ROOM": TIle <br /> <br />underside ofthe roof slab of the two story area over the fonner Century Room, Southeast <br /> <br />comer oftlle building, is badly spalled. Four ofthe East- West concrete beams in the roof <br /> <br />structure of this area have failed. These beams span approximately 12 feet 8 inches, and <br /> <br />have a cross section of approximately 8 inches horizontal by 6 inches vertical, which <br /> <br />ex1ends below the roofslab. Two major beams, spatming North-South for approximately <br /> <br />29 feet 6 inches, with a cross section of approximately 12 inches horizontal, and 25 inches <br /> <br />vertical below the roof slab, are in distress. <br /> <br />SECOND FLOOR,. SEVEN STORY AREA: This area is covered with plaster, but <br /> <br />appears to be sound. <br /> <br />SECOND FLOOR ANNEX: The framing is similar to the third floor annex with two <br /> <br />rows of columns, nttming East-West. These columns support two rows ofbeatnS which in <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />tum support steel purl ins spamUng the North-South direction. Although the surface ofthe <br /> <br />steel is rusted, the structural integrity of the steel framing appears to be intact. <br /> <br />FIRST FLOOR,. LOBBY AND KITCHEN: The ceiling of the "Century Room" is <br /> <br />intact. In the area of the fonner kitchen, there are cracks in the East concrete masonry unit <br /> <br />wall. <br /> <br />FIRST FLOOR, BUS DRIVE THROUGH: TIle structure is &1eel purl ins covered with <br /> <br />steel deck, and although rusted, appears to be sound. <br /> <br />BA.8EMENT: The concrete beams under the glass blocks in the sidewalk, on the West <br /> <br />side of the building, are badly deteriorated, and in some cases the rebar is completely <br /> <br />5 <br />
