allow a front yard fence. <br />B. Section 11.5 -3 (b)(1)(c) of the Fence Ordinance <br />(h) Fence heights: <br />(1) Front yard fence requirements. <br />c. In residentially zoned areas, no fence over forty -two (42) inches in height <br />above the average grade of the yard shall be permitted from the, fi-ow building <br />line to the street right -of- -way line. <br />The applicant is proposing to install a fifty -nine (59) inch front yard fence. The <br />applicant is asking for a 17 inch variance in height. <br />Public hearing was declared open. <br />A. Two individuals spoke in favor of the petition. <br />Arjumand Hashmi, 4510 FM 195, Paris, Texas, spoke in favor of the petition. Dr. <br />Hashmi stated he wants to install a rod iron fence in the front of his three properties <br />on Pine Bluff Street. Dr. Hashmi stated the fence is 50 inches with arrows on the <br />top making it 59 inches tall. Dr. Hashmi stated he wants to have these fences <br />installed for safety reason. Dr. Hashmi further stated that the property at 751 Pine <br />Bluff Street had an existing front yard fence when he purchased the property. Dr. <br />Hashmi stated he hopes they board will approve his variance request and to apply <br />his comments to agenda item 4 and 5. <br />Laurie Goodson, 739 Pine Bluff Street, Paris, Texas, spoke in favor of the petition. <br />Mrs. Goodson stated that she hope the board will approve these variance requests <br />for the three fences on Pine Bluff Street. Mrs. Goodson stated since the fence at 751 <br />Pine Bluff Street came down people keep cutting across her front yard and coming <br />up to her door asking for help. Mrs. Goodson stated she would feel safer at her <br />home if the fence variances were approved and installed. <br />B. No one spoke in opposition of the petition. <br />Public hearing was declared closed. <br />Motion was made by David Hamilton, seconded by Jerry Haning to approve the variance <br />request item 3A. Motion carried 5 -0. <br />Motion was made by David Hamilton, seconded by Louise Hagood to approve the variance <br />request item 3B. Motion carried 5 -0. <br />4. Public hearing and consideration of and action on the petition of Arjumand Hashmi on <br />Lots 15, City Block 64B, being located at 751 Pine Bluff Street. <br />A.
