REGULAR MEETING MINUTES <br />CITY OF PARIS HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION <br />CITY COUNCIL CHAMBERS <br />107 EAST KAUFMAN <br />PARIS, TEXAS <br />WEDNESDAY, May 10, 2017 <br />Chris Dux, Chairman <br />Sarah Barbee Vice Chairman <br />Linda Knox <br />Skipper Steely <br />Cheri Bedford, HPO <br />Absent: David Alarid <br />Council Liaison, Matt Frierson <br />Guests: Barbara Wilson <br />The meeting was called to order at 4:05 p.m. by Commissioner Dux <br />April 12, 2017 minutes were approved 4-0 <br />Commissioner Barbee gave a review of the design standards on signage within the Historic <br />District. <br />Commissioners Steely asked if Code Enforcement could go and check the condition 1144 5`h <br />SW property. <br />A motion was made to send structures 1507 W Houston, 1435 W Houston, 1518 W Houston, <br />1217 W Shiloh, 1321 Belmont, to the Buildings and Standards Commission since they cannot <br />be rehabilitated and designated on the National Register of Historic Places, as a recorded <br />Texas Historic Landmark, or as historic property as designated by the City Council of the City <br />of Paris. Commissioner Barbee made the motion to approve, seconded by Commissioner <br />Steely. Motion carried 4 - 0 <br />Progress Report by Commissioners and possible action on previously listed houses that have <br />been pulled from the agenda: <br />623 6rh SE Commissioner Dux reported that the owner is not intending to do anything with this <br />house, and would be willing to sell it, but has not had anyone interested. <br />424 Graham Commissioner Steely reported that the owner done alterations such as removal <br />of the porch, and putting plastic over the windows, but nothing has been done since this <br />time, and the structure looks worse than it did. <br />Commissioners Dux asked if there is a way to see if the taxes are delinquent and attempt to <br />get the houses on the list for delinquent tax sales before their condition is so bad. <br />
