INTERLOCAL GOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT FOR DRUG ELIMINATION AND PREVENTION BETWEEN THE CITY OF PARIS AND THE HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF PARIS STATE OF TEXAS ) ) ) KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS: COUNTY OF LAMAR THAT, the CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, a municipal corporation, acting by and through its City Manager, Michael E. Malone, duly authorized, hereinafter called CITY, and the HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, a public housing authority, acting by and through its Chairman, Curtis Fendley, duly authorized, hereinafter referred to as PHA, do hereby contract and agree as follows: I. CITY covenants and agrees that it will travel to each public housing site owned by the PHA six (6) days per week for each week of the contract period and pick up children who reside in public housing, targeting children from ages thirteen (13) to eighteen (18) years old, and transport them to the Police Athletic League for educational, recreational, or other constructive activities in an attempt to remove them from the public housing sites and any crime and drug- related activity that might occur there. To accomplish this, CITY agrees to provide round-trip transportation from the public housing sites, along with all related costs, in the amount of four thousand nine hundred sixty (4,960) miles over the contract period, CITY also agrees to provide a part-time driver-recreation aide for six and one-quarter (6,25) hours per week at $7.00 per hour for each week of the contract period, totaling three hundred twenty-five (325) hours. Hours of pick-up and return of children are to be scheduled weekly as agreed between the Director of the Police Athletic League, or designee, and the Executive Director of the Housing Authority of the I EXHIBiT A
