REGULAR MEETING MINUTES <br />CITY OF PARIS HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION <br />CITY COUNCIL CHAMBERS <br />107 EAST KAUFMAN <br />Chris Dux <br />Skipper Steeley <br />David Alarid <br />Sarah Barbee <br />Glee Emmite <br />Randy Hider <br />Linda Vandiver <br />Cheri Bedford- HPO <br />Linda Knox- Council Liaison <br />PARIS, TEXAS <br />WEDNESDAY, Seat 13, 2017 <br />Guests: <br />Marvin Gorley <br />Lisa Walker <br />Michael Moore <br />Jeremy Moore <br />Barbara Wilson <br />Commission Chair Dux called the meeting to order at 4:00 p.m. <br />The meeting minutes from August 9, 2017 were reviewed and approved by acclamation <br />Discussion and Possible action on the following certificate of appropriateness: <br />A. WeRiet, LLC, 39 Lamar Ave. Installation of window Marvin Gorley stated the <br />company wanted to reestablish the window in the east wall of 39 Lamar Ave. The <br />owners had taken off the wood that infill of to look at the where the window was <br />previously located. Commissioner Dux had questions about the siding, and sheeting that <br />would cover the side of the brick that has been exposed. The concern was that the <br />sheeting would not match the character of the original building. Chairman Dux asked if <br />there was any thought to going back to the original. Mr. Gorley stated that the only thing <br />that the owner wanted to do was to match the existing front fagade. Commissioner Dux <br />asked if the building owners were going to open up the transoms. Mr. Gorley explained <br />that future plans to restore the property to original, but at this point the side window that <br />was covered would be opened. Chairman Dux called for motion; Commissioner Hider <br />made the motion to accept the installation of the new window as presented. <br />Commissioner Dux seconded. Mr. Gorley stated that he appreciated the second, but <br />would be willing to discuss with the owner if the window could be framed leaving the <br />brick exposed and cleaned if this could be an option to be added to the approval, <br />Commissioner Hider amended his motion, and added the option to leave the brick <br />showing if possible. Seconded by Chairman Dux, motion Carried 4-2, Commissioner <br />Barbee abstained. <br />B. Avanteusa, ltd 140 NE 2nd ST.
