08/10/2017 MINUTESLove Civic Center Present: Curtis Fendley, Bobby Walters, Kenneth Webb, Troy Scholl, Robert High, Linda Kapp, Casey "Iessler, Chip McEwin, Helen Ressler, A — Curtis Fendley called the meeting to order at 4:00 pm. A motion to approve the June minutes was made by Kenneth Webb, seconded by Casey Ressler. All approved. Ken Higdon stated that the Pamphlet marketing piece for Love Civic Center was on hold waiting for pricing information and needing pictures of a variety of events held at Love Civic Center. Board input was that information is on website and pamphlet is for marketing purposes to show pictures of meeting rooms, concerts, weddings, wedding receptions Etc. Ken stated that there will be a report from the long range planning committee assessment at the September meeting. (Yikes! Please check with Ken and Randy on this) Linda Kapp gave an overview of the July Financials, and Kenneth Webb made motion to approva ceconcled by Casey Ressler. They were approved and accepted into the minutes. Randy Nation, spoke to! the Board about the bids for cabinets in the kitchen. $9,150.85 from Simwick, Bobby made the motion to approve bid, and seconded; by Casey Ressler, Motion carried to go forward with building aind inistalling the cabinets. Randy talked about the ongoing leaks in the ceiling. Plans in place to get those repaired,. During one of the, events recently, someone backed into the steel garage door in the back and did damage estimated at $500. The plan had been to replace the door before this incident happened, so the $50i1 will be put towards the replacement. Randy talked about the po:oion in the Trolley barn, and that an exhaust fan is needed. There was also damage to a panel on the side wall that needs to be replaced, Curtis and board said to go! forward with these repairs if under $5,000. Red phone booth that was ordered by VCC to be used as an outside Kiosk for information ca;nn:ot be used' outside. Back panel just not sturdy enough, and we, did not know this until it was delivered to Civic Center. It is for sale and price will be determined at a later date, Security Cameras are completed in the Civic Center office to show the grounds around the, Eiffel Tower and inside the Civic Center. Ken Higdon, Randy Nation and Kern Wright met with George Wood of the Red River Val'ley Veterans Memorial to discuss and clarify what the security cameras for Love Civic Center could be used for, and suggestions were: that it would be best for the Memorial' to have separate cameras for their use. Contract Modification for Love Civic Center was reviewed and suggestions were made for a few verbiage changes and after changes made, motion to approve Contract Modification wais made by Casey Ressler and seconded by Kenneth Webb. All approved. Randy reported that the Bike Ki05k has been in operation for 6 weeks and has had 954 rentals to date, 8/10/17, Sign with instructions to be mounted soon, Corrections had! to be modified for installation. Ken reported about need for CPR and First Aid equipment at Civic Center and John Godwin, City Manager had stated that the City would pay half for this equipment that would be installed at the Civic Center. Kenneth Webb suggested: that staff check with St. Joseph's Foundation to see if they would donate one to Civic Center, Staff will move forward to check on Kenneth's suggestion. Motion was made to approve Bylaws by Kenneth Webb and seconded by Linda Kapp. All approved . Appointment of new Board members was shared with Board, They are Troy, Scholl taking another term, Board, and Seconded by Kenneth Webb., All' approved. Meeting adjourned at 4:55 pm.
