7. A report on the hanger construction was given by Dick Boots.
Bids were received for the project with Drake Construction
being the low bidder. The engineering department recommended
to the Council that the alternate bid from Drake Construction
be accepted. The Alternate bid called for asphalt taxiway and
apron areas instead of the concrete that was originally
specified. The total cost will be $134,189.00. The hanger
construction should be completed in approximately three
months. The chairperson designated J. B. Richey and J.W.
Ashmore to serve on a committee to decide what lease fees
should be recommended on all Cox Field hangers.
8. Funds for the terminal renovation are available through the
TDA. The problem is that funding for terminal renovation is
very low on the priority list for funding.
9. The Texas Airport Operators conference will be held in April
in Austin. Dick Boots, Jim Collier, Greta Greb, Eric Clifford
and Michael E. Malone will be attending the conference.
10. Paul Malir of Bucher, Willis & Ratliff was in attendance at
the meeting. The Advisory Board and City Staff reviewed the
master plan draft over the last 30 days. They presented
additions and deletions to the plan to the Consultant. The
FAA has completed their review. Once the TDA reviews the
plan, it will be ready for the final printing. The completed
plan should be in our hands in approximately three weeks.
11. The meeting was adjourned at 7:10 P.M.
G, 41
Dick Boots
Recorder
DB:td
