Mrs. Jordan discussed the Part 139 Limited Certificate.
Topics of discussion were: purpose of having certificate, reason for
FAA pulling back certificates, more restrictive inspections, effects on
Cox Field, requirements of Part 139 certificate and the need for an
exemption letter.
The tabling of the security gate by the City Council was discussed.
Mrs. Greb re- emphasized the reason that the security gate was
recommended by the Board. The security gate was recommended because it
would eliminate a large portion of vandalism and burglaries that have
taken place and it was not recommended for any personal gain for any
member of the Board or pilots. The Advisory Board is again
recommending to the City Council that the security gate is a viable
concern and that we should go forward with the project.
Mrs. Greb asked the City Staff to invite a representative of the Texas
Aeronautics Commission to meet with the Airport Advisory Board to give
their view concerning the Part 139 Limited Certificate.
Mrs. Greb requested that a report be presented at the next regularly
scheduled meeting concerning the TAC meeting in Austin on April 6 -7 -8,
1988.
The Board recommended that Mr. Collier write a letter to FAA requesting
an exemption concerning some of the requlations that go along with the
Part 139 Certificate.
Victor Abeles made the motion to adjourn. Mrs. Greb - seconded.
DB:Dp
