MINUTES AIRPORT ADVISORY BOARD MEETING TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 27, 1988 COX FIELD TERMINAL PARIS, TEXAS 1. The meeting was called to order at 6:00 P.M. by Chairman Bill Boothe. The following members were present: Bill Boothe, Chairman J.W. Ashmore, Secretary Vic Abeles Greta Greb Members absent: Joe Burress Also in attendance were Jim Collier, Airport Manager, Dick Boots, Director of Community Facilities, and Eric Clifford, Mayor of the City of Paris. 2. The minutes of the August 30, 1988, meeting were read and approved by unanimous vote. 3. Discussion of the Five Year Plan: The five year plan presented to the advisory board was reviewed and the advisory board recommended that the five year plan be put into effect at the earliest possible date. The city is going to meet with the FAA after the October 10, 1988 City Council meeting that will be addressed by three personnel from the FAA. 4. Update on beacon replacement: The beacon has not been replaced as of this date. However, the new beacon will be installed as soon as some of the lighted guidance pole signs are replaced. 5. Report concerning FAA inspection: There are three things that must be corrected immediately. a. The overruns on each end and side of the runways are much too rough and undrained for use by the emergency vehicles. b. The taxiway reflectors are missing. The reflectors are in stock, but the airport manager has been unable to get the replacement reflectors installed. He will continue to make every effort to get the reflectors replaced.ASAP. C. The foam tank liner is broken preventing the foam dispenser from dispensing foam from the fire truck. The airport manager is co- ordinating with the fire department on repair replacement of the foam tank and the use of any alternate system. Also, the inspector questioned the poor drainage of the airport and the cutting of the hay (grass) that obscures some of the taxiway signs from certain angles.
