COX FIELD TERMINAL
RECOMMENDATIONS FOR
LONG -RANGE RENOVATION
When an individual arrives at Cox Field, their first impression of the
Airport Facility is very important. Whether it is the general public, local
flying public, industrial representatives or other visitors arriving at Cox
Field, these individuals must realize that the City of Paris is proud of their
Facilities. The recommendations for modernizing and renovating the Airport
Terminal should have a far reaching affect on future private and industrial
growth in Paris.
After inspecting the terminal building, it appears the structural integ-
rity of the building is excellent with the exception of the roof. Repaint all interior walls, woodwork, doors and frames.
10. Install heavy duty panelling on all interior brick walls.
11. Strip, clean and seal floors in entire building.
We recommend that an architect be hired in the 1988 -89 budget ($3,000) to
prepare plans and specifications for this renovation project and that the cost
of the renovation be placed in the 1989 -90 budget.
There are several areas of concern at Cox Field that we feel should be
dealt with as soon as possible. The entrance circle and parking area must be
addressed. The existing paving should be removed and a new 2" asphalt overlay
be applied. The longer this project is overlooked, the more deterioration of
