- 2 -
asphalt, curb and gutter will take place, thus increasing the cost of the
project. The cost of -this project will be given to the Advisory Board at a
future meeting. The second area of concern is.solving the problem of soil
erosion that is encroaching into the two roadways above the creek. To solve
this problem, headwalls must be constructed above and to each side of the
tinhorn culverts. If these headwalls are not constructed soon, we will have
to build two entire roadway sections. The approximate cost of constructing
the four headwalls is $13,000. We consider this a priority project. Hopeful-
ly, this project and the resurfacing of the entrance circle and parking area
can be requested in the 1988 -89 budget.
The Cox Field Facility is an important part of Paris and Lamar County.
As happens many times, important projects are put on the back burner for
numerous reasons. We have completed projects in the past several years that
were desperately needed, but we still have some major projects that we must
complete. Hopefully, by doing this future planning, we can realize the
importance of these projects being completed and insure that the Airport
Facility continues to serve Paris and Lamar County in the best way possible.
Dick Boots Earl Smith
Director of Facilities City Engineer
