Eric Clifford reported that at a meeting with the City Manager , the
City Manager concurred that there is still being made an effort to
pave the approximately 100 yards of access road which is now dirt and
gravel. The manager stated that he realized that that road is the first
thing visitors see when they deplane and start to town and the last thing
they see when they are driven back to their airplane. As it is, this
section of road is a definite liability to the image Paris projects to
visitors. In addition, the gravel road damages propellers and aircraft
skin at various times.
2. Report on the refueling ordinance is postponed until the next meeting.
3. The 99's representative was not present. This report will be received
at the next meeting.
4. The Advisory Board reviewed the problem of water on the taxiways and
maintenance of the storm sewer system on the airfield. It was moved,
seconded and passed that the board recommend the City Council investigate
the possibility of obtaining a federal grant for the purpose of correcting
deficiencies in drainage of the taxiways and airfield. The FAA has recom-
mended that the City of Paris seek such federal assistance to correct this
deficiency.
5. The meeting was adjourned at 6:30 P.M.
J.W. Ashmore,
Secretary
