MINUTES <br />AIRPORT ADVISORY BOARD MEETING <br />TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 29, 1987 <br />COX FIELD TERMINAL <br />PARIS, TEXAS <br />The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. by Chairman Bill Boothe. <br />The following members were present: <br />Bill Boothe, Chairman <br />Victor Abeles <br />Joe Burress <br />Greta Greb <br />Members absent: J.W. Ashmore <br />The minutes of the September 29, 1987, meeting were approved as read. <br />Mr. Collier reported a sum of $3,800. was available for purchase of a <br />Security Gate at Cox Field. <br />Bids for the security gates which included Pridemore Fence Co. and <br />Agpro were discussed. Also, Mr. Roger Sadler reported to the board <br />regarding their request that he check the possibility of a sliding gate <br />with a padlock which could also be opened from the terminal building if <br />necessary. Mr. Sadler said he found a source from which these gates <br />could be purchased and that he would install them. He said they could <br />be installed within the cost available. <br />Mr. Joe Burress made a motion the board wait to review all the <br />information and exact price of purchase and installation of the <br />security gates at the next meeting. This motion was seconded by Mr. <br />Vic Abeles and approved by the advisory board. <br />Mr. Collier reported that the painting of markings was completed and <br />the joint sealing projects would be completed Wednesday, September 30. <br />Mr. Collier also informed the advisory board of the cost approval and <br />budget inclusion for taxiway reflectors. At their recommendation, Mr. <br />Collier assured the board the reflectors would be purchased and <br />installed as soon as money was available after October 1, 1987. <br />Mr. Collier reported that the airport drainage project has not been <br />successful to date. An experienced motorgrader operator was either not <br />available or simply not sent by the City to do the job. The results <br />were inspected on site by the Airport advisory board who found the area <br />in worse shape than it had been before the attempt was made to fix it. <br />The explanation given was that when the blade was let down, clay would <br />come up in big clods and would not grade out smooth. Mr. Boots and Mr. <br />Spangler came to the airport at which time, Mr. Spangler suggested a <br />tiller be used to break up ground and a more experienced motorgrader <br />would be sent out in three or four days to try again. It appears that <br />although the City Staff attempted to do something, by sending <br />
