MINUTES <br />AIRPORT ADVISORY BOARD <br />TUESDAY, APRIL 28, 1987 <br />COX FIELD TERMINAL <br />PARIS, TEXAS <br />The meeting was called to order by acting Chairman, Joe Burress, at 6:00 P.M. <br />The following members were present: <br />Members absent: <br />J.W. Ashmore, Secretary <br />Jim Collier, Airport Manager <br />Joe Burress <br />Greta Grebb <br />Vic Abeles <br />Bill Boothe, Chairman <br />The minutes from the March 31, 1987 meeting were reviewed and approved as <br />written. <br />OLD BUSINESS: <br />1. SECURITY GATES: Mr. Coker from AGPRO presented details <br />of a security gate. Brochure, drawing and information <br />sheet are attached. After considerable discussion, it <br />was moved, seconded and passed that the advisory board <br />recommends to the City Council that this item be budgeted <br />and installed at the earliest possible date. It appears <br />that a "push button control" box as well as the remote <br />control devices be used concurrently. <br />NEW BUSINESS: 1. GRASS RUNWAY: The Board recommends that Mr. Collier <br />check with the FAA for the requirements for constructing <br />a grass runway on Cox Field. <br />2. BUDGET: The Board recommends: <br />a. Item 20 -61 -00 -0211 - Dept. Head Request - be lowered <br />$1600 to $1100. <br />b. Item 20 -61 -00 -0407 - Projected actual - be increased <br />from $300 to $1000. <br />c. Add $3900 for the purchase of a security gate in <br />accordance with page 36 -a of the FAA recommendations <br />of April 22, 1987. <br />d. Add $3,000 for the purchase of an ADF contingent upon <br />the receipt of a grant from TAC. <br />e. Add $600 to install retro - reflective markers for taxi- <br />way A, item number, page 3 -B (d) in the FAA letter of <br />April 22, 1987. <br />
