MINUTES <br />AIRPORT ADVISORY BOARD <br />TUESDAY, JANUARY 31, 1984 <br />7:15 P.M. <br />TERMINAL BUILDING - COX FIELD <br />The January 10, 1984 meeting of the Airport Advisory Board was called to order <br />by Chairman Rick Rex. Board members present were: Dr. Edward Keller, Gene <br />Sudduth and Kristina Campbell, Secretary. Also present were: Jim Collier, <br />Airport Manager, Billie Wrenn, Jimmy Wrenn, Zeb Smith and Ann Wilson and <br />Associates. <br />Approve minutes: Kristina Campbell asked that the minutes be corrected to <br />include under the heading: ANNUAL REVIEW OF OPERATIONAL PERMITS, the name <br />of Roger Boxwell of Paris Center for Aviation for a permit to perform airframe <br />and power plant maintenance. Mr. Boxwell's permit was recommended by the <br />Board for approval but his name was left off the list included in the minutes. <br />The minutes were approved as corrected. <br />Call for items on next agenda: Mr. Sudduth asked that the January 31 meeting <br />be a workshop to consider the matters of agricultural spraying, airport <br />promotion and the formation of an airport authority. The Board decided it <br />would consider these matters for a possible workshop as they came up on the <br />agenda during the meeting. <br />Financial Report: Mr. Rex asked if there was any discussion concerning either <br />the revenue report or the budget report. He noted that 32.8% of the budgeted <br />amount for water and gas had been spent. Mr. Collier reported that $823.00 <br />had been spent to repair the water system. <br />Mr. Collier stated that Cox Field was going to be hooked up to the Lamar County <br />Water system. This would require a capital outlay of $14,000. <br />Mrs. Campbell noted that this amount was not in the current year's budget. Mr. <br />Collier remarked this was true. <br />Review Recommendations and Actions,of the City Council: Mr. Rex stated there <br />has been no response or acknowledgement of the letter sent by him to City <br />Council concerning the Airport Board's recommendation that a line shack be <br />constructed. <br />Mr. Rex stated Mayor Joe Graham had telephoned that day concerning the Council's <br />request that a study be made on the effect of discontinuing agricultural spray <br />operations at Cox Field. This call was in response to Mr. Rex's letter to <br />Mayor Graham asking for clarification of his November 28, 1983 letter to the <br />Board. Mr. Rex stated he expected the Mayor to appear for the discussion on <br />this matter later in the evening. <br />Jim Collier asked for Item #4 of the Agenda under NEW BUSINESS be taken up at <br />this time. Mr. Rex called for Item 4. <br />Discussion on Receiving Bids for Gas and Oil at Cox Field: Mr. Collier read <br />letters from Tex Jet Inc. of Dallas and Kerr McGee expressing interest in <br />bidding on the oil and gas sales for Cox Field. Each company quoted prices <br />for fuel, gave a list of credit cards accepted and stated what marketing <br />practices it followed. <br />
