MINUTES <br />AIRPORT ADVISORY BOARD <br />TUESDAY, AUGUST 30, 1983 <br />7:15 O'CLOCK P.M. <br />COX FIELD TERMINAL BUILDING <br />The Airport Advisory Board met in regular session Tuesday, August 30, 1983 <br />at 7:15 PM with the following members present: <br />1. Richard Rex - Chairman <br />2. Dr. Edward Keller <br />3. Gene Sudduth <br />4. Kristina Campbell <br />Also present was Jim Collier, Airport Manager. <br />1. Approval of Minutes- The minutes of the last regular meeting were <br />approved as read. <br />2. Items for the next agenda- A) Options on moving Operations from current <br />location. B Discuss Airport Promotion Campaign. <br />3. Financial Report — This report was not sent to board members. Mr. Rex <br />asked Mr. Collier to check into this matter so that the Airport Board <br />will have this report at the September meeting. <br />4. Review of Recommendations to City Council= Mr. Sudduth asked if the <br />cost of the membership to the Airport Managers Association had been <br />included in the 1983 -1984 City Budget. Mr. Collier replied it had been. <br />Dr. Keller asked if Council had taken any action on the hangar lease <br />agreement. The Board decided to have the board secretary write a letter to <br />David Doty., City Manager, with copies to: Joe Graham, Mayor and Rick Rex, <br />Airport Board Chairman, asking for a status report on the Hangar Waiting List <br />Rules and the Hangar Lease Agreement. <br />The letter is to state the board voted to recommend the Hangar Lease <br />Agreement and Hangar Waiting List rules to City Council at the May 31, 1983. <br />It is to opinion of the Board that the lease agreement is a matter of some <br />urgency and the board would like to be advised of its status before the <br />next regular meeting of the Airport Board on September 27, 1983. <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />1. Ramp and Fuel Installation Status- Mr. Collier reported the ramp <br />construction was nearing completion. <br />2. Budget Status- Mr. Collier read from a statement by Mr. Doty to City <br />Council, "Budget recommendations for Cox Field appear to be the minimum <br />amount needed to retain the existing level of service. Even operations <br />at this level will require the equivalent of a 1.6 cent tax subsidy. Badly <br />needed maintenance and rehabilitation items, recommended by the Operations <br />Staff and endorsed by both administrative staff and Airport Advisory <br />Committee, have not been budgeted due to anticipated negative cash flow. <br />
