MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE <br />BUILDING AND STANDARDS COMMISSION <br />Monday, October 17, 2005 <br />4:00 P.M. <br />1. Chad Brown called the Building and Standards Commission Meeting to <br />order at 4:10 P.M. <br />Roll was called. <br />A. The following members were present: <br />Chad Brown Brad Archer <br />Ryan Lassiter Steve Brown, Alternate <br />B. The following members were absent: <br />Pike Burkhart,Alternate Lucius Joe, Jr. <br />Harrell Tippitt Mary Crumpler <br />Greg Wilson Zach Saffle, Alternate <br />2. Approval of Minutes of previous meeting: <br />A motion was made by Brad Archer to approve the meeting minutes, and <br />Steve Brown seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously <br />3. Public hearing to consider presentations by City of Paris Code Inspectors <br />and owner(s) and /or lien holder(s) of the below properties who have been <br />given notice of a violation of Article III of Chapter 7 of the Code of <br />Ordinances of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, entitled A Substandard and <br />Dangerous Buildings and Structures: <br />A. 863 17'h Street SE, Lot 10, Block B, Crockett Place <br />Chad Brown made a motion that the building be demolished within 30 <br />days with a $1000 per day civil penalty and, if the building is not <br />demolished within the 30 day time period, the City will demolish the <br />building. Ryan Lassiter seconded the motion. The motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />B. 2136 W. Kaufman Street, Lot 9, City Block 204 <br />Mr. Porter was present to speak on behalf of the property. He requested 90 <br />days to demolish the structure. <br />Ryan Lassiter made a motion that the property be demolished within 90 <br />days with a $1000 per day civil penalty and, if the property is not <br />demolished within the 90 day time period, the City will demolish the <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />
