MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE <br />BUILDING AND STANDARDS COMMISSION <br />MONDAY, MAY 159 2006 <br />4:00 P.M. <br />1. Chad Brown called the Building and Standards Commission Meeting to order at 4:00 <br />P.M. <br />Roll was called. <br />A. The following members were present: <br />Chad Brown Stephen Brown, Alternate <br />Harrell Tippitt Mary Crumpler <br />Zach Saffle, Alternate Ryan Lassiter <br />Chris Brown, Alternate <br />B. The following members were absent: <br />Brad Archer <br />Lucius Joe, Jr. <br />The alternates were seated as voting members since there were not enough regular members <br />to make a quorum. Mary Crumpler was seated as acting Secretary in the absence of Brad <br />Archer. <br />2. Approval of Minutes of previous meeting: <br />A motion was made by Ryan Lassiter to approve the meeting minutes, and Zach Saffle <br />seconded the motion. The motion carried 7 -0. <br />3. Public Hearing to consider presentations by City of Paris Code Inspectors and owner(s) <br />and /or lien holder(s) of the below properties who have been given notice of a violation <br />of Article III of Chapter 7 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, <br />entitled "Substandard and Dangerous Buildings and Structures ": <br />A. 5000 Block of Lamar Avenue; Lot 10, City Block 315 -A <br />Bob Skidmore, owner of the structure, stated that he told his tenant, George House, <br />a 1 %Z ago that the house needed to be torn down. Mr. Skidmore has no objection to <br />tearing the house down. Motion was made by Ryan Lassiter, seconded by Harrell <br />Tippitt for the property to be demolished within 30 days with a $1,000 per day civil <br />penalty, and if the property is not demolished within the 30 day time period, the City <br />will demolish. Motion carried unanimously. <br />
