NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OFTHE CITY OF <br />PARIS, TEXAS: <br />Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this ordinance are hereby <br />in all things approved. <br />Section 2. That Chapter 26, Article 1, Section 26-6, "Assignment pay" of the Code <br />of Ordinances of the City of Paris, Texas, be, and the same is hereby, amended to read in its <br />entirety as follows: <br />"Sec. 26-6. - Assignment pay. <br />"Members of the police department, with the exception of the head of the <br />department, shall be entitled to receive assignment pay, as permitted in Local <br />Government Code, Sections 143.041, 143.042, and 143.043, as amended, as, follows: <br />"(a) Field training officer. <br />"(1) 'Field training officer' shall mean a member of the police department <br />who is assigned to and performs the duties and responsibilities of the field <br />training officers program. <br />"(2) The field training officer shall be entitled to compensation at the rate of <br />$46.153 per pay period when performing the duties and responsibilities of <br />the position. <br />"(3) The assignment pay provided by this section shall be in addition to the <br />regular pay received by the member or members of the police department <br />assigned as the field training officer. <br />"(b) Crime prevention officer, <br />"(1) 'Crime prevention officer' shall mean a member of the police department <br />who is assigned to and performs the duties and responsibilities of the crime <br />prevention officers program. <br />"(2) The crime prevention officer shall be entitled to compensation at the <br />rate of sixty-five dollars ($65.00) per pay -period. <br />"(3) The assignment pay provided by this section shall be in addition to the <br />regular pay received by the member or members of the police department <br />assigned as the crime prevention officer, <br />'°(c) Dispatcher training officer. <br />"(1) 'Dispatcher training officer' shall mean a member of the police <br />
