MINUTES <br />CITY OF PARIS HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION <br />PARIS JUNIOR COLLEGE <br />BOBBY R. WALTERS APPLIED TECHNOLOGY BUILDING, ROOM 1206 <br />WEST ENTRANCE <br />2400 CLARKSVILLE STREET <br />PARIS, TEXAS <br />TUESDAY, MARCH 30, 2004 <br />12:00 O'CLOCK P.M. <br />1. The Historic Preservation Commission Meeting was called to order by <br />Chairman Arvin Starrett at 12:00 P.M. <br />A. The following members were present: <br />Barbara Wilson <br />Paul Denney (left at 12:55) <br />Claudia Hunt (arrived at 12:15) <br />Alternate: Becki Norment (left at 12:45) <br />Brian Wear <br />B. The following members were absent: <br />Ann Rodgers, Secretary <br />Jerry Raper <br />Sue Lancaster <br />C. Also present was Lisa Wright, Historic Preservation Officer. <br />2. Consideration of and action on temporarily suspending the requirements of <br />Article Vll, Section 2 of the Rules of Procedure of the Paris Historic <br />Preservation Commission of the City of Paris. Motion to suspend the rule was <br />made by Barbara Wilson, seconded by Becki Norment. Motion carried 5 -0. <br />3. Discussion of and possible action on approving the following Certificates of <br />Appropriateness: <br />A. Linda and Bill Payne - 435 S. Church Street and 105 E. Sherman Street - <br />Bill Payne stated that he would be demolishing the rear structure to do <br />underground utility work. Motion to approve the demolition was made <br />by Barbara Wilson, seconded by Becki Norment. Motion carried 5 -0. <br />4. Receipt of historic district design guidelines from other cities. Lisa Wright <br />distributed sample guidelines. <br />
