MINUTES <br />SPECIAL MEETING <br />CITY OF PARIS HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION <br />PARIS JUNIOR COLLEGE <br />BOBBY R. WALTERS APPLIED TECHNOLOGY BUILDING, ROOM 1206 <br />WEST ENTRANCE <br />2400 CLARKSVILLE STREET <br />PARIS, TEXAS <br />MONDAY, APRIL 12, 2004 <br />4:00 O'CLOCK P.M. <br />The Historic Preservation Commission Meeting was called to order by <br />Chairman Arvin Starrett at 4:00 P.M. <br />A. The following members were present: <br />Paul Denney, Acting Secretary <br />Barbara Wilson <br />Jerry Raper <br />Sue Lancaster <br />Claudia Hunt <br />Alternate: Brian Wear <br />B. The following members were absent: <br />Ann Rogers, Secretary <br />Alternate: Becki Norment <br />C. Also present were Lisa Wright, Historic Preservation Officer, Suzy <br />Harper, Araceli Arreola, Karen Wilkerson, and Steve Methven. <br />2. Consideration of and action on temporarily suspending the requirements of <br />Article Vll, Section 2 of the Rules of Procedure of the Paris Historic <br />Preservation Commission of the City of Paris. No action was taken. <br />3. Receipt of current fund balance. Lisa Wright reported to the Commission the <br />current fund balance in the City's budget. She noted that slightly less than <br />$2,000.00 of the $25,000.00 budget has been spent to -date. <br />4. Discussion of and possible action on approving the following Certificates of <br />Appropriateness: <br />A. Michaella Bumgarner and Brenda Smyers - 101 Grand Avenue. Ms. <br />Bumgarner and Ms. Smyers asked Jerry Raper for advice on taking <br />some brick and professionally mixing the paint for a better match for <br />the paint. After doing a computer mixing of colors, a better match was <br />found. No action taken. <br />
