MINUTES <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />CITY OF PARIS HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION <br />PARIS JUNIOR COLLEGE <br />BOBBY R. WALTERS APPLIED TECHNOLOGY BUILDING, ROOM 1206 <br />WEST ENTRANCE <br />2400 CLARKSVILLE STREET <br />PARIS, TEXAS <br />MONDAY, MAY 24, 2004 <br />4:00 O'CLOCK P.M. <br />1. The Historic Preservation Commission Meeting was called to order by <br />Chairman Arvin Starrett at 4:00 P.M. <br />A. The following members were present: <br />Arvin Starrett, Chairman <br />Barbara Wilson, Vice - Chairman <br />Paul Denney <br />Sue Lancaster <br />Claudia Hunt <br />Jerry Raper <br />Alternates: Brian Wear <br />Becki Norment (arrived at 4:11 p.m.) <br />B. The following members were absent: <br />Ann Rodgers <br />C. Also present was Lisa Wright, Historic Preservation Officer. <br />2. Approval of minutes from previous meetings. Motion to approve the minutes <br />of the May 12, 2004, and May 17, 2004, meetings was made by Barbara Wilson, <br />seconded by Sue Lancaster. Motion carried 7 -0. <br />3. Discussion of and possible action on approving the following Certificates of <br />Appropriateness: <br />A. Beverly Pendleton - approximately 24 W. Plaza (property immediately <br />north of 28 W. Plaza [McKay's Music Co.]). Beverly Pendleton advised <br />the Commission that Paul Denney prepared a drawing of the entryway, <br />and they have decided to build a new door as shown on the alternate <br />drawing. Chairman Starrett advised Mrs. Pendleton that any painting <br />of masonry should match, as closely as possible, the surrounding <br />masonry. Mrs. Pendleton stated that she felt the color they selected <br />would help distinguish the building from others. Barbara Wilson stated <br />
