May 24, 2004 <br />Page 5 <br />A. 336 3rd Street S.W. Sue Lancaster advised the Commission that she <br />has been working to see if the owner is willing to donate the structure, <br />and she thinks she is coming around. <br />6. Discussion of and possible action on the following: <br />A. Declaring the property located at 714 Graham Street (Baldwin House) <br />as a historic landmark and setting a public hearing on same. Motion to <br />declare this property as a historic landmark was made by Sue <br />Lancaster, seconded by Becki Norment. Motion carried 8 -0. The public <br />hearing on this will be held at the regular meeting in June. The <br />Commission requested that the following structures be added to the <br />next agenda to declare as landmarks: (1) Gibbons house, (2) Early <br />house, and (3) First Presbyterian Church on W. Kaufman Street. <br />B. Adopting revisions to Article VII, Section 2 of the Rules of Procedure of <br />the Paris Historic Preservation Commission of the City of Paris. Motion <br />to adopt the revisions as presented was made by Sue Lancaster, <br />seconded by Paul Denney. Motion carried 8 -0. <br />C. Selecting sign designs for the Downtown Historic District. The <br />Commission wants to add the following to what was previously <br />adopted (36" brown vinyl street sign with logo on one end, a finial, and <br />a spacer bracket): frames around the signs with an additional frame at <br />the top area and the name of the district. The Commission requested <br />that staff determine the additional cost. No formal action taken. <br />D. Establishing an annual Preservationist Award. Chairman Starrett <br />advised the Commission that he wished to establish this award for <br />possible presentation at the annual Chamber banquet in October. <br />Barbara Wilson recommended that the Commission name nominees at <br />a summer meeting and that someone contact the Chamber to make <br />sure it's okay to present this award at their banquet. Motion to <br />establish a preservationist award was made by Barbara Wilson, <br />seconded by Claudia Hunt. Motion carried 8 -0. Barbara Wilson <br />recommended that the Commission establish a "13 most endangered <br />properties list," and chairman Starrett appointed Barbara Wilson, Becki <br />Norment, and Claudia Hunt to create the list. <br />E. Setting a special joint public hearing on the Church Street Historic <br />District. A special joint meeting will be at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, June <br />19 at the Holy Cross Episcopal Church with the City Council, Planning <br />
