MINUTES <br />SPECIAL MEETING <br />CITY OF PARIS HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION <br />LOVE CIVIC CENTER <br />2025 S. COLLEGIATE STREET <br />PARIS, TEXAS <br />WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 8, 2004 <br />12:00 O'CLOCK P.M. <br />1. The Historic Preservation Commission Meeting was called to order by <br />Chairman Arvin Starrett at 12:00 P.M. <br />A. The following members were present: <br />Barbara Wilson, Vice Chairman <br />Paul Denney <br />Claudia Hunt <br />Sue Lancaster <br />Alternate: Becki Norment (arrived at 12:15) <br />B. The following members were absent: <br />Ann Rodgers, Secretary <br />Jerry Raper <br />Alternate: Brian Wear <br />C. Also present were Lisa Wright, Historic Preservation Officer, and Larry <br />W. Schenk, City Attorney. <br />2. Discussion of and possible action on approving the following Certificates of <br />Appropriateness: <br />A. William S. (Trey) Elliott- 643 Church Street- Chairman Starrett advised <br />the Commission that Mr. Elliott was unable to make the meeting, but <br />that he had been in touch with him and he could explain the request for <br />him. He reported that Mr. Elliott would need to reapply on the garage <br />because the distance off the property line may not be adequate. Motion <br />to approve the paint colors and demolition of the old carport, and to <br />table the construction of a new carport was made by Barbara Wilson, <br />seconded by Paul Denney. Motion carried 5 -0. <br />B. Doug Hines - 746 Church Street - Doug Hines was present and advised <br />the Commission that the storage building would be at least 5' from the <br />property line. Motion to approve the construction and color of the <br />accessory building was made by Claudia Hunt, seconded by Sue <br />Lancaster. Motion carried 5 -0. <br />
