C. Doug Hines - 111 E. Washington Street - Mr. Hines advised the <br />Commission that the trim color would remain the same. Motion to <br />approve the paint color was made by Paul Denney, seconded by <br />Barbara Wilson. Motion carried 5 -0. <br />D. Suzy and Chip Harper - 23 E. Plaza - Suzy Harper was present and <br />advised the Commission she was not painting the brick, only the <br />window and canopy trim. Most of the colors were recommended by <br />THC. Mrs. Harper advised the Commission that they intended to <br />expose the brick on the interior and use the building as a one -stop <br />shop for Historic Preservation. Motion to approve the colors presented <br />and to have two Commission members review and approve an <br />additional color on -site was made by Barbara Wilson, seconded by Sue <br />Lancaster. Motion carried 6 -0. <br />3. Consideration of and possible action on the following: <br />A. Making nominations for the Annual Preservationist Award. Chairman <br />Starrett advised the Commission that the award would be presented at <br />the Chamber banquet in November. The Commission discussed <br />several factors to take into consideration for the award. There was a <br />consensus that, if a nomination is based on a specific project, it should <br />be completed for a person, business, or organization to be nominated; <br />or a nomination could be for someone who exhibited a long- standing <br />commitment to preservation. Chairman Starrett appointed Barbara <br />Wilson, Claudia Hunt, and Becki Norment to a subcommittee to come <br />up with three nominations and two potential awards for the next <br />meeting. Motion to approve the appointments to the subcommittee was <br />made by Paul Denney, seconded by Sue Lancaster. Motion carried 6 -0. <br />B. Status of City Hall /Central Fire Station project. Paul Denney recused <br />himself from the vote because he was the architect working on the <br />project. Motion to recuse Mr. Denney was made by Sue Lancaster, <br />seconded by Barbara Wilson. Motion carried 5 -0. <br />Mr. Denney reported that they wanted to change the door design. <br />Motion to approve the change was made by Barbara Wilson, seconded <br />by Sue Lancaster. Motion carried 5 -0. <br />Motion to allow Mr. Denney to return to the meeting was made by <br />Barbara Wilson, seconded by Beck! Norment. Motion carried 5 -0. <br />C. Status of Pen & Dowell Antiques project. Mr. Denney reported that the <br />Pendletons had made a change in their design, but it was a change for <br />the better.
